5 free baby schemes every UK parent-to-be needs to join
Preparing for the arrival of a new baby is so exciting, but the costs can add up fast! Luckily, you don’t have to pay full price for everything as there are some great loyalty clubs and schemes out there that are completely free to sign up for and offer freebies, discounts, and rewards. Here are five schemes I signed up to and find useful.
Emma’s diary
Sign up to Emma’s diary to claim two free gift packs, the Mum-to-be gift pack and the Bump to baby gift pack. These can be collected at participating Boots and Argos stores, and they are packed with really fab essentials. Inside, you'll find things like nappies, baby wipes, nappy rash cream, breast pads, laundry detergent, and vitamins. Plus, as an Emma’s Diary member, you will also get access to lots of ongoing discounts and offers on pregnancy, baby, and parenting items.
Amazon baby wishlist
During your pregnancy, signing up to Amazon baby wishlist is a must if you want to save on your parent and baby purchases. Basically, you browse Amazon as you usually would, but save anything baby related to your Baby Wishlist to save up to 15% on eligible items (up to a maximum savings of £300).
Plus, after signing up, you get a free welcome gift, we chose the Tommee Tippee Twist & Click nappy bin! The discount activates after your wishlist has been active for 14 days. It becomes available 180 days before your due date and expires 90 days after, so you have plenty of time to make the most of the discount. I have used it for everything from muslins and changing mats to cot sheets, toys, and a breastfeeding pillow.
Boots parenting club
If you haven't already, sign up for a Boots Advantage Card and link it to the Boots parenting club. Upon signing up you’re met with lots of exclusive offers on baby essentials, and even some coupons for freebies like baby body wash, a bottle, and tummy butter. As a parenting club member, you earn 8 points per £1 spend on a baby shop. Collect points up to save on future purchases!
Recycle at Boots
Wondering what to do with all those empty, hard-to-recycle plastic packaging items like nappy and baby wipe packets? Collect them up and take them to a store participating in the Recycle at Boots Scheme. For every five empty containers or packets you recycle, you’ll get a voucher for £5 worth of Boots Advantage Card points when you spend £10 in-store. Save these points up to buy something nice for yourself or your baby.
Pampers club
If you’re planning to use Pampers nappies, definitely download the Pampers Club app. Each nappy packet and box of wipes has a unique QR code that you can scan with the app to earn Pampers Points which can be exchanged for discounts on future Pampers purchases, and trust me, you are going to go through a ton of nappies and wipes!
